Selection
criteria include the following:
- Must be a deputy member of RIMS and affiliated with the
San Diego Chapter
- Must attend six meetings/events during the prior
calendar year
- Has either originated or enriched a risk management
program that demonstrates a combination of creativity, effectiveness, and cost
savings
- Must have responsibility for at least one area within
the RIMS membership criteria as follows:
* risk evaluation and analysis
* risk avoidance or elimination
* risk assumption
* purchasing of insurance
* claims handling
* benefits funding, selection or administration relative to property/casualty
or
employee benefits programs
- Has identified and solved one or more major risk
management problems
- Serves as an integral part of his or her employer’s
company as a whole, i.e.., serves on strategy committees, has
interdepartmental responsibilities, etc.
- Demonstrates organizational/management skills
- Has developed industry-specific expertise in one or more
of the broad categories of expertise included within the risk management
profession
- Evidences personal growth through education
- Exhibits a positive attitude and performs activities
fostering the advancement of the Risk Management profession as evidenced by
professional activities, speaking engagements, teaching and related
activities.
All
nominations for the 2007 award must be received at the Chapter’s Post Office Box
no later than October 12, 2007. Please allow sufficient time for mailing and
delivery of the nomination. The Chapter is not responsible for lost or misdirected
mail.
NOTE:
A selection committee, chaired by the most recent recipient, and composed of the
previous year’s recipient (for the sake of continuity) and at least three
Associate Members that are active in the Chapter’s affairs and of good standing
shall review and evaluate all submitted nominations and is responsible for the
selection of the current recipient of the Risk Professional of the Year Award.
The Award shall be made at the November ½ Day Educational Seminar.
