The RIMS Chapter Recognition Program was created as a means for RIMS to annually recognize outstanding chapter achievement. The guidelines for participation and accomplishments of recognized chapters may serve as a yardstick against which other chapters can measure themselves. It is hoped that the Program will inspire all chapters to higher levels of activity. Participation in this program is strictly voluntary.

Chapter recognition awards are presented in six categories:

  1. Outstanding Chapter ProgrammingPresented to the chapter that provides its members with programs and events of exceptional quality. Judging is based on originality of programming, number of programs throughout the year, attendance by members, educational value, timeliness of topics, and caliber of speakers.

  2. Advancing the Risk Management Profession** Presented to the chapter that has distinguished itself in advancing risk management by conducting innovative programs and activities in such areas as education, research, legislation and outreach.  Judging is based on breadth of activities and quality of project content.

  3. Outstanding Member ServicesPresented to the chapter that provides local RIMS members with exceptional services throughout the year, including a chapter newsletter, chapter directory, surveys and executive referral. Judging is based on the scope and quality of services and programs.

  4. Outstanding Membership DevelopmentPresented to the chapter that demonstrates exceptional creativity and success in retaining and recruiting RIMS members. Judging is based on membership promotion and retention efforts, as well as the total chapter growth.
